Plaster Pool Resurface

DON’T REPLASTER! THE PROBLEMS WITH PLASTER, PEBBLE AND CEMENTITIOUS POOL FINISHES

If you currently have a plaster pool finish, you are already very familiar with the types of issues that arise.

• Plaster is very sensitive to pool water chemistry and can easily become abrasive from etching of the plaster.
• Colors are tricky with plaster. It is very common to see discoloration or variations in hue or shading.
• Staining and mottling is very common with plaster finishes. Startup is very tricky and requires a lot of time, work and care to ensure that everything goes just right.
• Pebble pool finishes finishes are generally believed to be better and more durable than standard pool plaster. However, they are also known to be rough and abrasive. And since they are cementitious, like plaster, they are also more susceptible to poor water chemistry.
